A big congratulations is due to graduate students Arely Cavazos and Melise Hulslander who passed the WELL Accredited Professional Exam in August. The credential signifies extensive knowledge of human health and wellness in the built environment, and the WELL Building Standard. The pair registered for the exam after taking Dr. Pable’s WELL AP “mini-mester” in the Spring and paired up to study together throughout the summer. Each semester, our department offers three abridged courses, called “mini-mesters,” that allow students to expand their understanding of interior design beyond the required course schedule. Led by Dr. Jill Pable, the WELL AP class spent each Friday for five weeks reviewing the building standard as well as study strategies for those hoping to take the exam.

Additionally, we have the pleasure of announcing that five students enrolled in Dr. Waxman’s sustainability class in the spring opted to sit for the LEED Green Associate exam and all five passed! Congratulations to Jonathan Gairala, Zuleydi Gonzalez, Melise Hulslander, Summer Jansen, and Shannon McNamara!
