Interior Design Alumni Event Held in Orlando

Published July 10, 2015

Orlando alumni eventAlumni, Advisory Board Members, and FSU Faculty and Administrators gathered in Orlando in April for and alumni reception, advisory board meeting, and tour of the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center.  Thanks goes to our Advisory Board Chair Grant Gribble for hosting the reception in his lovely home and to Wilsonart for underwriting the refreshments.  Attendees had the chance to mingle with fellow classmates and hear what is going on in the department.  Lisa Waxman, chair of the Interior Design department showed images of the new building and gave updates on the new and retired faculty.  Peter Weishar, dean of the College of Fine Arts, shared accomplishments at the college level.  Thirty-five alumni from the 1960s through 2014 attended and exchanged stories of late nights working with classmates, tough critiques, and the many changes that have occurred over the years. The following afternoon, FSU Interior Design Alumna Katherine Ramsberger, CEO and President of the Phillips Performing Arts Center, gave the tour of the beautiful facility and explained how the design supports arts in the community.

There are many ways our alumni support the program.  They offer internships, career shadowing, deliver guest lectures, or makes financial contributions.   Alumni can contribute financially by selecting: https://interiordesign.fsu.edu/giving/. When making a financial donation, be sure to select interior design from the menu.
