Marlo Ransdell

Department of Interior Architecture and Design
Marlo Ransdell specializes in making within design education and the creative process. She oversees Studio D: Design and Fabrication Lab and the furniture design curriculum. Studio D supports undergraduate and graduate studios in furniture design and prototyping for the department of interior architecture and design.
As Director, Ransdell facilitates undergraduate and graduate furniture design courses among other classes and studios, and also curates gallery shows such as “Digital Fabrication: The Flat Pack” and “processing…”. In addition to her role as Director of Studio D, she works with incoming graduate students on thesis and research development. Ransdell is also an executive member of the Council on Research and Creativity at Florida State and regularly presents and publishes her work internationally. She was awarded the Interior Design Educator Council (IDEC) Best Paper Award and the Ralph Prize Stair Award for Innovative Education at Florida State University in 2021.
