Lindsey Slater presents her research

Each year, faculty and graduate students represent the Department of Interior Architecture and Design at the Interior Design Educator’s Council (IDEC) Conference. The conference is a special opportunity for professors to share their research with the design community. This spring, our attending faculty presented on a broad range of topics including Social and Environmental Design, Creative Scholarship, and Pedagogy as well as Practice. Two of our faculty also exercised their leadership skills as Professor Stephanie Sickler continued her role as Director of Service and Professor Steven Webber plunged into his new duties as the incoming Director of Teaching. And Professor Emeritus, Dr. Lisa Waxman represented the department as she spoke about the 2020 CIDA standards. MFA Candidate Lindsey Slater presented her thesis research on Restorative Spaces in Title 1 High Schools, a culmination of her work over the past two years, in the student poster event. We could not be more proud of such a strong contribution to this year’s IDEC Conference and look forward to what next year has in store.
