Group at Cooper Lighting

Graduate and undergraduate students of the Department of Interior Architecture and Design’s Lighting class experienced a field trip to Atlanta on January 18th and 19th 2015. Dr. Jill Pable organized and facilitated the trip to a series of destinations to review innovative architectural lighting and speak with lighting designers. The Georgia Aquarium’s Technical Director offered a customized information session about the lighting and effects systems used in their presentation theatre, and thereafter the students enjoyed a guided tour of the W Hotel downtown Atlanta. A full day of private workshops, demonstrations and lectures at Cooper Lighting’s Source Showroom rounded out the second day of the field trip. Students will apply this information to a series of projects including a custom lighting fixture in their Computer-Aided Design course, and retail and office projects in their Studio III course this semester.
