From the Open Plan to the Cubicle

Dr. Kaufmann-Buhler will explore the history of the open plan office concept, progressive design theory, and the associated ideals promoted by architects and designers in the 1960s and 1970s, while also addressing various problems that emerged as “cubicles” became mainstream in offices throughout the United States.
