Interior Architecture & Design Career Day

Whether seeking internships to earn experience or full-time jobs to jump start a career, The Florida State University’s Department of Interior Architecture & Design understands the importance of students’ exposure to professionals in potential industries. At their Second Annual Career Day on February 21st and 22nd, students had the chance to engage with design practitioners, practicing marketable conversation and gaining valuable feedback. The faculty planning committee, led by IA&D Professor Jim Dawkins and the Career Center’s Kyle Roark, organized a meet-and-greet social Thursday evening, with a keynote speech by alumna Amanda Guerrier followed by an informative panel with practitioners offering advice to students. Friday afternoon, students had the opportunity to interact with representatives from 26 firms and practice their interview skills, receiving feedback on their resumes and portfolios. The department appreciates the dedication of the faculty planning committee, the Career Center and the alumni and professionals who came to campus to help our students advance in their careers.
