The spring semester was full of outstanding events and achievements for the Department of Interior Architecture and Design. The ID Rendered newsletter highlights some of these moments during this past semester, as well as events coming up in the fall. In addition to being ranked number one nationally among interior design programs by DesignIntelligence, the department has been made proud by its many student awardees, who were recognized at this year’s College of Visual Arts, Theatre and Dance Awards Ceremony. Interior design faculty have also been recognized for their efforts, including Dr. Marlo Ransdell for her work with Studio D: Design and Fabrication Lab as its director, and Dr Jill Pable, who will be awarded the title of full professor in the fall. Kenan Fishburne and Jill Pable are also in the faculty spotlight for their work with the Comprehensive Emergency Services Center project.
Many other notable projects and events are highlighted in this issue, such as the Department’s collaboration with Ringling on a new retail space, the Stacking Layers Conference which was held on the Florida State University campus, student involvement at the Interior Design Educators Conference in New Orleans and the 2014 Art & Design for Social Justice Symposium, among others.
