In the 2013 Design Intelligence national rankings of Architecture and Design programs, the FSU Interior Design Graduate Program was listed as the Most Admired in the ranking by deans and chairs. In the 2012 rankings, Dr. Lisa Waxman was chosen to be listed in the Top 25 Most Admired Design Educators in the United States!
In the 2011 Design Intelligence national rankings of Architecture and Design programs, the FSU Interior Design Program was ranked #2 in Sustainable design practices and #4 in computer applications. Importantly, the survey ranked Sustainable Design and Computer Technology #1 and #2 in compelling emerging issues to the profession. This puts us right at the vanguard of meeting the needs of the profession.

NATIONAL LEADERS
FSU faculty member Lisa Waxman recently completed service as national president of the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) serving from 2011-2012. FSU has had a series of national presidents with Jill Pable serving from 2009-2010 and retried professor Eric Wiedegreen serving from 2006-2007. Dr. Waxman also served a two-year term as Secretary/Treasurer from 2005-2007 following Jill Pable who served in that capacity from 2001-2005. Waxman has also served on the IDEC Foundation Board and on the Board of the Journal of Interior Design.

Jill Pable received the 2013 College of Visual Arts, Theatre, and Dance Distinguished Researcher Award
Lisa Waxman was awarded the 2013 IDEC Presidential Award for sustained and notable service to the organization as she completes her three-year term as President-elect, President, and, Past President of IDEC.

Kenan Fishburne was awarded a First Year Assistant Professor Grant for the research, Professional Interior Design Mentor Retention in a New Economy.
Steve Webber was awarded a First Year Assistant Professor Grant for the research, Influencing Interior Design Pedagogy by Determining Patterns of Learning Styles and Professional Outcomes.
