CVATD Welcomes Back Eames Demetrios

Published September 16, 2013

Join the Department of Interior Architecture and Design in welcoming back Eames Demetrios to Florida State University as part of the Donghia Designer Series

The Department of Interior Architecture and Design will host Eames Demetrios as part of the Donghia Designer Series. Eames will share with us his inspiring insight into the design process of his legendary grandparents, Charles and Ray Eames, creators of the most recognizable and coveted pieces of mid-century modern design. In addition to his role as principal of Eames Office, in which he actively preserves the legacy of Charles and Ray Eames, his own work includes filmmaking – he was instrumental in creating the interactive version of the groundbreaking film Powers of Ten by Charles and Ray Eames and its companion DVD Scale is the New Geography; writing (An Eames Primer, Wartime California); and founder of an idea called Kcymaerxthaere, which is a global work of three-dimensional fiction.

The Donghia Foundation contribution makes this lecture and many other events possible. The Donghia Foundation, named for the late New York-based interior designer Angelo Donghia, is a non-profit organization that supports the advancement of education in interior design. The endowment awards scholarships annually to deserving recipients and has funded more than $9 million to various causes since 2002. FSU’s Department of Interior Architecture and Design is proud to be one of this year’s recipients of this prestigious award.

Special Thank You to the Pietralunga/Rossi Family for additional support.
